Hi, I am Dawn Hartley, one of the managing directors at CSS. Along with my husband Danny, we established CSS in 1995. Throughout this time I have remained passionate about delivering and developing a needs-led service to our customers.
To achieve this we have invested in a well-trained, knowledgeable and committed team who have been instrumental in ensuring that CSS goes from strength to strength.

My main role at CSS is Financial Director. This involves dealing with invoicing, payroll, account management, financial planning, tendering and purchasing. As a director, I am also heavily involved in the overall running of the company.
I am the Service Manager. I’ve worked for CSS since 1995, starting as a support worker and working my way up to management. I have undertaken numerous courses, which have allowed me to grow with the company and deliver a high quality service to the people we support.
Supported Living Manager
I have worked for CSS since 1995, when I started as a support worker. In 2001 I became the manager of a number of our supported living schemes. My aim is to provide a high standard of support, to empower our tenants and help them achieve their goals.
Deputy Supported Living Manager
I started my employment at Community Support Services in 2002 as a support worker in Supported Living. Over the years I have worked towards my position now as a deputy manager within Supported Living. Within my role I complete weekly rotas to ensure the staffing level meets the needs of the tenants we work with.
I audit all Supported Living houses to ensure that paperwork, tenants person centred plans, finances and medication are all correct and up to date which will ensure we deliver high quality needs-led professional care.
Day Services Manager
I have worked at CSS since 2000, when I started as a support worker. During my time at CSS I have had the opportunity to undertake many training courses. As a result, I was promoted to Day Services Manager in 2010. I thoroughly enjoy working as part of the management team and as part of our day services.
Quality Performance & Internal Audit Manager
I have worked for CSS since 2016 having started my employment as a Receptionist and assisting with general administration duties.
I have worked at Community Support Services since March 1999 and was promoted to Assistant Manager in April 2004. I have undertaken numerous training courses and completed my NVQ and a Diploma in Care.
In my role I run activity clubs for children in the school holidays, and I also worked in day services and have had chance to work in all areas of CSS.
Assistant Manager of Day Services
I started working for CSS in 2004, as a supported living support worker. Over the years I have undertaken various training courses including my NVQ Level 3.
I was promoted to Assistant Manager of Day Services in April 2013, giving me responsibility for the day to day running of Day Services. This involves ensuring our activities are run to a high standard so that everybody gains confidence and new skills. I enjoy working in the management team and look forward to being part of the ongoing development of day services.
Compliance and Administration Manager
I started my employment with Community Support Services in 2010 as an Office Junior, throughout my employment I have undertaken an NVQ 2 in Customer Service and also a NVQ 3 in Business and Administration.
In December 2014 I was promoted to Office Admin Manager, my roles include typing, filing, covering the reception, contractual returns, completing and returning audits and much more. I also have completed a Manual Handling Training and Assessors course which now enables me to train staff Manual Handling. I have gained a lot of experience whilst working with CSS thanks to my supportive management team!
Human Resource Manager
I joined Community Support Services in June 2015 as an Administration Assistant. Due to internal promotion over the years, I am now in the position of Human Resource Manager.
I work part time in the office, typing, sorting and filing documents. This includes working with wages and rotas, and I help Angela and the other managers with their duties as well. I do any work that the company needs doing.
Hi, I’m Stuart. I began my career at CSS in 2001 as a support worker, and I became a member of the management team in 2006. My responsibilities as a manager are varied, including managing staff absence, delivering our Safeguarding Adults workshop and completing contractual reports for Calderdale Adults Health & Social Care.
I also complete information for Skills for Care, which enables CSS to access funding for staff training. Alongside these responsibilities, I continue to provide support within the community, which is a role I thoroughly enjoy and get a lot of satisfaction from.
Supported Living Assistant Manager
I have worked for Community Support Services since 2010. I started as a support worker and built myself up to an assistant manager within supported living.
I thoroughly enjoy my job and have built up good relationships with both my colleagues and service users.
Supported Living Assistant Manager
I have worked for CSS since 2002. I started off part time as a support worker and built myself up to an assistant manager within supported living.
I manage two houses and conduct regular staff supervisions. I also enjoy being involved with setting up activities for the service users.
Supported Living Assistant Manager
I have worked for CSS since 2004. I started as a support worker and built myself up to assistant manager within supported living.
I now run a house with a strong staff team who provide support for the tenants. I also conduct staff supervisions.
I enjoy all social aspects, swimming, walking, cinema, pool, snooker and travelling around visiting places.
I am also a WWII enthusiast and a member of the British Titanic Society. Motorcycling and music are another two of my loves.

I enjoy playing guitar, walking and reading. Travelling and going on holiday are also things I enjoy.
Hi I’m Julie Helliwell. I enjoy reading and visiting interesting places. Howarth and York are my favourites.

I mostly work in the community but I do work a little in supported living.

I have a dog called Bear and I have an interest in motorsport. I am also a bit of a comic.
